Parents are children’s best supporters in terms of fencing.

However, the mom or dad has the last word in parenting while the fencing coach has the last word in fencing.

When searching for a fencing instructor, make sure you and your child are comfortable with the style of the selected coach.

Open communication is ok but the parent should keep things on a professional basis.

It is recommended that you start your child in group lessons that enable him/her learn the basics in a fun, non-pressured environment.

Before seeking private instruction be sure your child wishes to pursue fencing on a long-term basis .

Fencing must enhance your child’s development so be open to all fencing opportunities in your area.

The cost of fencing training and equipment can be very reasonable.

To save financially, apply for scholarships, endorsements, etc.

Fencing is a unique investment.
